I want to sew my own dress using a vintage pattern. There are a few places that sell reproduction patterns of vintage styles. I wanted something from the 1930’s that would look sort of art deco and unique.

Here’s a few patterns that I bought from Eva Dress www.evadress.com

I like this one the best. I’d make it without sleeves.

These patterns are printed with only 3/8th of an inch seem allowance so I added a bit more to make the normal 5/8th allowance.

Next step will be to make a version out of plain old muslin fabric to make sure it fits. I will probably do that with both patterns and see which I like best. I may have to try other patterns or alter these to fit but we’ll see.
